Vickie Kocuiba
January 10, 1952 – March 08, 2021

It’s with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Vickie Lynn Kocuiba on Monday March 8th at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with her loving family by her side after a battle with Cancer.
Vickie is survived by her children Angela Jolicouer, Karen Smith & Rob Kocuiba, grandchildren Reece, Rebecca, Brittany (Mat), Victoria & Megan, great grandson Morrison, sister Shirley Barnard (Jerome), brothers Denis Barnard (Colleen) & Rennie Barnard, brother-in-law Carl Kocuiba (Vi), sisters-in-law Lecea Bodnar (Norman) & Margaret Kocuiba as well as several nieces & nephews. Vickie was predeceased by her husband Orest Kocuiba, son Troy Jolicouer, parents James & Mary Barnard, brother Jim Barnard, sister Wendy Barnard, nephews Rennie Barnard Jr & Paul Barnard, in-laws William & Nellie Kocuiba & brother-in-law Frank Kocuiba.
Vickie was born on January 10, 1952 in Kenora, ON and grew up in the Fort Frances & Barwick area. She spent several years in Atikokan and then made Dryden her home. Vickie worked for Best Western & Alex Wilson Coldstream for many years.
Not long after she moved to Dryden, Vickie met the love of her life Orest (Chube). They enjoyed many nights dancing at the Legion & their love grew from there. They became known to each other as Dolly & Bud. Not long after they married on Aug 19, 1989 and became a beautiful family with their children Karen, Rob, Troy & Angela. They always opened their home with so much love & open arms to many family & friends. They enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, travelling and entertaining. Vickie enjoyed gardening, volunteering & going to the meat draws at the Legion with her friends. She had a love for animals & was always supporting the Second Chance Pet Network. Vickie had this infectious smile & so much love to give. She was surrounded by many friends & left you feeling like you were the most important person in her life. Always bubbling with happiness and welcoming you with the warmest hugs. Vickie touched the lives of so many and her spirit and energy will be missed.
At Vickie’s request there will be no service.
Should friends desire, donations may be made to Second Chance Pet Network through Stevens Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 412, Dryden P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted on Stevens Funeral Homes Facebook page or at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca.
