NORMAN ALFRED GOSLING passed away peacefully on December 29, 2020 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Jolene Shipley Gosling, and by their 4 daughters, Karen (Terrence) Motiuk, Maureen (Harley) Koch, Shelley (Stephen) Kendrick and Julie (Marco) Ouellet, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 expected in March.
He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Gosling. He is predeceased by his father Alfred Gosling and mother Winnifred Battle Gosling. Norm was born on June 1, 1938 in Calgary, AB and was the oldest of 2 children. He attended King George Elementary School and Crescent Heights High School in Calgary where he developed many life-long friendships. It was through one of his close friends, that he met and married Jolene, his wife of 59 years.
He worked for General Electric in Calgary until he was transferred with his family to Toronto, Ontario where he worked for Wyant & Co. for 21 years. Norm and Jolene moved to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1989 where he was employed with Turnmore Sanitation and then The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until his retirement. Norm and Jolene then served a church service mission in Lethbridge at the Church employment office, and later as temple workers in the Cardston Temple.
Norm had a great love for trains and looked forward in his youth to his yearly family vacations on the train to the west coast. He also had a great love for baseball and was a devoted Toronto Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed travelling with his family visiting many sites around the world. He has made many cherished memories with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A family graveside service and burial will take place in Glenwood, AB.
