Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Mary Anne Wells (Hughes), loving wife of Jason Wells, wish to announce her unexpected passing which occurred on February 22, 2021. Born in Saint John on January 18, 1974 she was the daughter of Pauline and the late Leonard Hughes.
Mary Anne took tremendous pride in her family. If she wasn’t busy cheering her children on at every single one of their sporting events, she was spending the remainder of her free time with her beloved dog Teddy (who was her favorite child most days). Once the sporting events ended, Mary Anne fell in love with the water. She would go for many drives to the St. Martins area and stare out into sea. She found great peace whenever she was there. Mary Anne was an incredible role model, an incredible wife, incredible mother and an all around amazing human being. She was endlessly loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be deeply missed.
Besides her husband Jason and mother Pauline she is survived by her son Mathew Bainbridge, her daughters Kiana and Kaitlyn Bainbridge, her sister Donna Callaghan, her grandchildren Liam Barton and Lily Martin along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Due to the current restrictions, a private visitation will be held. The Celebration of Life will take place at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 27th by invitation only. The service will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend, and may be viewed. Remembrances made to the Saint John SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
