James Alexander Dobbie, born May 31, 1947 in Winnipeg to Alex Dobbie and Flora (nee Crawford).
A precocious child, Jim loved baseball and always made sure to work hard in school to be exempted from final exams so he could play baseball sooner. He loved spending time at the family cabin, swimming and boating.
On May 11, 1966 a day he always remembered, he met his future wife and the great love of his life Linda. They married on August 22, 1970 and embarked on their life together. Over the next 51 years they traveled, partied with their many close friends (sorry acapulco they didn’t mean to drink all the tequila), and raised their family.
Jim was a dedicated family man and a friend who was always ready to lend a hand. He loved his dogs Butch, Barney, Mak, Gizmo and Bryer. Jim was quiet but had amazing comedic timing and could light a room up with a well timed comment. He will be missed immeasurably by his friends and family.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother Glenn. He leaves behind his loving wife Linda, son Kevin (Ashley), daughters Amanda (Andrew) and Melissa (Wade) and his beloved grandsons Drew, Eric, Kane and Ian.
Thank you to his many friends who have shown their love and support in this difficult time.
Donations can be made in his honor to Cancer Care or the Humane Society.
