It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Agnes Danice Bulick (Teague) on February 8, 2021, her 72nd birthday.
Darlene was born in Toronto to Gertrude Teague (Good) and James Teague. She grew up on Manning Avenue in Toronto with her big family and many others that were welcomed to stay. Eventually, she moved to Oakville on North Service Road at Happy Valley Ranch, where she made some of her best memories. Happy Valley Ranch is where Darlene found her love for all things outdoors such as horse back riding, camping, enjoying a sunny day and gardening.
Once Darlene purchased her own home in Oakville, she made it a must to continue her parents legacy by always having an open door, open ear and excellent food on the table. Darlene was a great cook, seafood being her favourite. If you happened to ask her what’s on the menu, it was always “food”. She loved a good jacuzzi bath and a warm fireplace. Many drinks, many smokes and many games of pool were some of her favourite past times.
Darlene was a mentor to many throughout her career and everyday life. She was intelligent, a protector, hardworking, strong willed, independent, extremely stubborn and had her own special way of letting you know how much she cared about you. If you had to hear it, you heard it from her.
In her later life, Darlene was still an avid gardener, loved a good book, made many new friends and adored watching her great grandson grow.
Her proudest moments were the birth of her daughter Michelle Bulick, her home on Washington Avenue, the birth of her granddaughter Shaelene Clark-Bulick, and lastly the birth of her great grandson, Graydon Clark-Bulick.
She is survived by her sisters; Gertrude Virgoe, Doris Johnston (Arthur) and her brothers; Dennis Teague (Janice), Shaun Teague and Allan Ross.
She was predeceased by her brothers Jim Teague and Bob Teague, her mother Gertrude Teague and father Jim Teague.
Her kids were her everything and we all know she would give everything to see them again.
If you crossed paths with her in your life, you were lucky.
She will be laid to rest in St Jude’s Cemetery in Oakville. In her own words “Celebrate my passing with an Irish wake”. Future arrangements will be made for a Celebration of Life.
Darlene was also of great support and council for many in an online West Nile Virus support group. She, herself suffered from this illness and strongly believed that more research, information and testing is needed. So in her words, “Cover up and bug spray!”
In her memory please consider making a donation to Mosquito Illness Alliance for continued research, public education, and therapeutic expertise regarding West Nile Virus.
