Mary passed away peacefully on a sunny Sunday morning, February 7, 2021 with her children at her bedside. Mary was born and raised in Trail, BC and came to Victoria in 1944, attending nursing school at St. Joseph’s under the Sisters of St. Anne. She married William (predeceased 2014) after graduating in 1946 and started her nursing career in Victoria. She created a loving home, known for great food and fun, for her family. Mary is survived by her children, Brian, Mark (Lori), Lloyd (Roberta) and Marianna (Nick), as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mary also leaves to mourn many friends and family especially niece, Terry and nephew, Ron. Mary and Bill travelled the world through their family business, Totem Travel Service. When not travelling or working, she loved gardening, music and dancing (once, on stage with Paul Anka).
The family would like to thank Dr. H. Domke, Raquel (Rosebank Gardens), Sue and the 3 Maple staff at the old Oak Bay Lodge; Loida, Jennifer, Willow and all the staff on 3 East at The Heights at Mount View (especially in these trying times). Their care and compassion will not be forgotten. Mary will be interred at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Trail BC, reunited with her predeceased Di Pasquale clan. She was the last surviving member of the old family and our family reunions will never be the same without Mary and her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific hcp.z2systems.com/np/clients/hcp/donation or the S.P.C.A. spca.bc.ca/donations/make-a-donation/?utm_source=header&utm_campaign=donate
