Obituary of Kathie Jane Price
Kathie Price passed away in her home January 28th, 2021 with her two loving cats by her side. Kathie was born in Brockville, Ontario on July 15th, 1959 to Jack and MaryLou Price at Brockville General Hospital. She graduated from TISS in 1979. After taking a few years away from her studies to care for her eldest son, Matthew. She then enrolled at St.Lawrence College, obtaining a Life Skills Teacher Diploma. Kathie was an accomplished counsellor, working at several group homes in the area, including interval house, which was a source of great pride to her. She touched the lives of many while they dealt with their struggles helping them to cope with their problems, trauma, and lead meaningful lives. Her former boss stated « she was born a counsellor ».
In addition, she took great pride in her family, passing on her values of love, compassion, empathy and community service to her four children.
As her health declined, she thought about regrets and stated « hopefully you can fix it with three little words ». She will always be remembered for her positive, giving and free sprit, and missed by all those who knew her.
Predeceased by her father Jack, she is survived by mother MaryLou, children Matthew Kelsey (Jenny), Patricia Hallyburton, Rebekah Hallyburton, and Lucas Hallyburton, as well as her sisters, Sandra Price, Cynthia Price (Dave) and brother, David Price(Patti), her two loving grandchildren Kellie and Lewis Hallyburton.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Brockville at a later date. In memory of Kathie, donations to the Leeds and Grenville Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East, Brockville.
