Obituary of Joshua Edward Johnston
JOHNSTON , Joshua Edward – age 93 of West Gore passed away at home on December 29, 2021. Born in East Uniacke, he was a son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Welner) Johnston.
Josh was hardworking all his life, he was an outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He was all about family, he loved them immensely. Josh love to “torment” his children and grandchildren. He kept busy woodworking over the past 10 years and built numerous picnic tables and wishing wells up until recently. Josh was a heavy equipment operator for most of his working career and from all accounts he was a skilled operator.
He will be sadly missed by sons, Gordon (Nancy), David (Debbie), Kenny; daughters, Debby (Rick), DeAnna (George); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jennie; son, Buzzy; and grandson, Jason, and sister, Jane.
Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held at 1:30pm Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Mike Poworoznyk officiating. COVID-19 regulations are to be adhered to. Masks are required and proof of vaccination will be required to attend the funeral.
