Obituary
Lewis H. Henning, 84 of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born December 26, 1937 in Pembroke, to the late George and Verna (Butler) Henning. He is preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Leland, Edward and George Henning, sister, Betty Mogenhan.
Mr. Henning was a 1956 graduate of Batavia High School. He managed supermarkets his entire career. Lou was on the Grand View Cemetery Board, Batavia Housing Authority Board and a past member of the Avon Rotary Club.
Mr. Henning is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie (Hosler) Henning of Batavia; children, Deborah (Jordan) Yager of Stafford, Bruce Henning of SC; grandchildren, Samantha (Timothy Bartz) Yager, Matthew, Jennifer, Carol Ann and Kenneth Henning; sisters, Joan (Don) Tullar of Oakfield, Linda (Glenn) Northup of Byron, Shirlene Edwards of Batavia; three great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Co. Inc. 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. An 11:00 AM Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Funeral Home. ***Masks will be required at all services. ***
