Norman’s Obituary
Stoddart, Norman Flinwood – 94, of Lower Clark’s Harbour, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 24, 2021. Born on June 26, 1927, he was a son of the late Elwin and Minnie (Ross) Stoddart. Norman is survived by his son, Ken Stoddart (Wanda); granddaughter, Kristen Vaccher (Kyle); grandson, Brett Stoddart; special nephews, Cleon and Lynwood Smith who had a special place in Norman’s heart; special neighbours, Donna and Curtis Nickerson who he considered family as well. Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his wife, Greta Stoddart; brothers, Alphie Stoddart, Kenneth Stoddart and Doug Stoddart; sister, Madeline Oickle (Burns). Norman married the love of his life, Greta Smith on June 24th, 1955. He worked many jobs from in ammunitions yard for WWII, fish plants, driving truck to delivering fish into the US for Edward C Nickerson and maintenance for the fish plant. Norman was an extremely hard worker and was a very generous man. Everyone who met Norman thought he was the most genuinely nice person they ever met. Every year Norman would travel to visit his son and his family Alberta. He loved to care for his yard, growing vegetables and woodworking. Norman was always looking for things to repair or fix. Always had to keep busy, he could never sit still. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A small graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, at 11:00 am from Evergreen Cemetery, The Hawk. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetic Association or any charity of choice.
