It’s with heavy hearts that the family announces his sudden passing at home on Monday, December 20th, 2021 at the age of 64 years. David was born September 30th, 1957 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Marlene (2016) and George Fournier (2007), his nephew Jason IP (2008). Left to mourn is his beloved siblings Wayne Covey of Timmins, Mike Covey (Lorraine) also of Timmins, Debbie Lewis (Morgan) of Whitby Ontario, Diana Dionne (Albert) of Kingsville Ontario, Rick Covey (Darlene) of Timmins Ontario and Tammy Covey (Marc) of Windsor .Also left to mourn are his numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. David had a special heart for his cousin Nicki from Windsor who was very dear to him. David had a passion for sports in which he was Captain for the Special Olympics in Floor Hockey and baseball until he retired. He was a huge Montreal Canadian Fan. He was an avid bowler for many years with many high scores. He received many awards and trophies for all his sports throughout the years. He also loved to sing with his brother Wayne in the last few years. His biggest love was spending time with the family and sharing laughs, reminiscing memories and of course music. David worked at Timmins City Bingo for years until Covid. He also loved to play crib, pool, bingo, washers and shuffle board. His warm kind heart will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, Remembrance donations to the Special Olympics would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miron-Wilson Funeral Home (masks and social distancing will be required along with the maximum number of attendees allowed in the visitation parlour and a maximum of 60 attendees in chapel for the service). The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
