Kenneth Nathaniel Sanford
1955-2021
Kenneth
Nathaniel Sanford, 66, of Riverside-Albert passed away on December
10th, 2021 at the Moncton Hospital with his family taking turns being
by his side.
Kenneth was born in Moncton on November 19, 1955
the son of the late James « Nathaniel « Nat » and Mona
Marie (Mosher) Sanford.
Kenny retired from Fundy National Park after working there
for 38 years. He was in maintenance and looked after
the golf course. That was a very fitting job for
Kenny as he was an avid golfer. He even got a hole in one at
the Hillsborough Golf Course. Kenny ran a
small engine repair shop when he lived in New Horton for
a few years called Sanford Sales &
Services. He also enjoyed cutting wood. He was the kind of
guy who was always smiling and laughing. He loved to joke
and tease and would often be the instigator when practical jokes were
being played. He enjoyed life to the
fullest. Kenny was a true Albert County Man; he enjoyed
hunting and just being in the woods and in nature. He was
known for his camo jacket which was his regular attire and it made it
easy to find him in the Toronto Stadium when he went to a
game with his family. He was also very community minded and
was at Crooked Creek Convenience Coffee Club every morning for the
day’s news and often returned many times during the day just to make
sure he was up on everything going on. He was a volunteer
for Tele-drive and drove many people to doctor’s appointments or just
to get groceries. Above all things Kenny was a
family man, he was a devoted husband and dad. His children
knew they could count on their dad to help out whenever
needed. He enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years and
then became a Hockey dad, who also helped coach his son’s
team. He had a special way with kids and they all liked him,
maybe because he was always a kid at heart. His
grandchildren were definitely his pride and joy. He
would not want any big fuss over him and would want his family and
friends to reminisce and share stories and cherish all the
good times they shared. His memory will live on in our
hearts forever and we will always remember his grin and twinkle in his
eye.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Phyllis (Reid)
Sanford ; his children, Kim Beers (Jeff) of Hillsborough, Graham
Sanford (Samantha) of Riverside-Albert and Steven Sanford (Ellen) of
Hillsborough; his treasured grandchildren, Annabel, Reid, Madisyn,
Ryder and Peyton; sisters, Bonna MacPhee (Roger) of Petitcodiac, Wendy
Hawkes of Hillsborough, Marie Jollimore (Bruce) of Woodstock and Kathy
Sanford of Weldon; brother, Vernon Sanford of Alma. He will
also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and by his sisters-in-laws,
(The Reid Girls) and all his extended family and
friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his in-laws,
Frank and Kay Reid.
There will be a Funeral Service and Celebration of
Life on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Albert County
Funeral Home with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating. A time
of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00pm until the time of
service at 2:00pm. Interment will be held in the Bayview
Cemetery, Harvey, NB.
Proof of double vaccination and masks are required
to attend the visitation or service and due to the current covid
situation there will be no reception following the
service.
Special thanks to Dr. Jamie Stewart and to the Acute Care
Department at the Moncton Hospital for all their support and caring,
you all went above and beyond in helping us through this difficult
time and all your thoughtfulness will never be
forgotten.
Due to it being close to Christmas the family
would like you to help anyone less fortunate and give to the local
food banks or any toy drives to help make someone’s Christmas a little
brighter in Kenny’s memory. Kenny would love this
act of paying it forward.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2
