In Loving memory of James « Ray » Simmons
May 28, 1927 to December 7, 2021
James Ray Simmons- Died peacefully at Helen Henderson Care Centre on Tuesday Dec 7th 2021 in his 95th year. He will be forever loved and missed by his daughters Deborah Wilton, Kim Sararas (Scott), Son-in Law Ralph Shaw and sisters Anne Davison, Freda Tracy (Ken) and Sister in Law Eloise Simmons. Predeceased by his loving wife Thelma Marjorie Simmons, daughter Donna Shaw, son James Simmons (Debbie), brother Glen Simmons and sisters Helen Smith and June Dodds. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Ray was a self-employed mechanic who operated B&S Transmission into his late 70s. Even though he was in his 70’s he could not remain idle, and continued to work, delivering a local paper until his early 90’s. Ray loved new technology, racing, square dancing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
The family would also like to thank the Staff at Helen Henderson Care Centre for the help and attention he received while he was in their care.
Friends and family will be received at the TROUSDALE FUNERAL HOME in Sydenham on Monday, December 13, 2021 between the hours of 11 a.m and 12 p.m. Service to follow with Ken Babcock officiate. Social distancing and wearing of masks will be in place, as well as proof of double vaccination upon entry to the funeral home. For those who wish donations may be made to the Kingston Human Society in Rays memory.
