Raisa (Raia) Shpinel (1933-2021)
Raia passed away following a rapid decline in her health due to returned cancer. She died peacefully at Innisfree on December 7,2021 with her loving daughter, Elena, and granddaughter, Anna, by her side. Having made Canada her new home in 2012, Raia became a proud Canadian while staying connecting to her cultural heritage in Russia. She loved reading, learning and traveling. Her eagerness to stay informed kept her busy and motivated to her final days. Raia took remarkable dedication in learning English after immigrating to Canada in 2012: allowing her to appreciate the culture and traditions of her new home. Raia will be sadly missed by her daughter, Elena, granddaughter, Anna, grandson in law, David and great grandson, Raphael, and all her extended family and friends in Russia, Canada, Israel, and United States.
