JOSEPH OSCAR STRADESKI
June 15, 1946- December 6, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Joseph « Joe » Oscar Stradeski announce
his sudden passing at the TBRHSC on the morning of Dec. 6, 2021. He was born June 15,
1946 in Esterhazy Sask. and grew up on the family farm in Dubuc, Sask. He was the youngest of five
children born to Joseph and Rhea.
He came to Port Arthur to complete his schooling and live with his sister Margaret and her family.
After receiving his electrician’s license he went to work for Ontario Hydro, then Bowater and
finally at KMH.
In 1972 he married Penny (Southern) and they had two sons Rob and Jodi. He was a very hands on
kind of Dad and loved being with his boys, playing golf, watching them in sports or
just watching sports on tv with them. He was a very proud dad.
He loved to play golf, cards, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. But mostly he liked to help anyone
who needed it. He was a « Nice Guy ».
He will be forever missed by his wife of 49 yrs. Penny, sons Rob (Sprague, MB) and
Jodi (Lily)(Sarnia, On.), sisters Margaret Ditchfield and Bertha Ogren (Cranbrook B.C.),
in-laws Kelly Southern (Rick Renaud), Cindy Southern (Gary Labine) and Joanne Richmond (Dan).
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives both here and in Sask, B.C.,
and California.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rhea, brother Felix, sister Kathy Joerison,
mother and father -in-law Arlene and Bob Southern, brothers-in-law Ralph Ditchfield,
Len Ogren, Ted Joerison and sister-in-law Lillian Stradeski.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Monday, Dec. 13
at the Chanterelle, 206 Park Ave. , side door from 2-5 p.m.
As per Ontario Covid-19 regulations, those attending must provide proof of double vaccination,
I.D. and wear a mask. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
