Obituary of Mary Ann Canale
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Sault Area Hospital, with her son Anthony at her side, at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Daughter of the late John and the late Margaret Autore of Sault, Michigan. Predeceased by her siblings Lena Sauro (Denny), Guy Autore (Mary), Joe Autore (Hallie), Charles Autore (Martha), Carmena Guilmette (Robert) and Tony Autore (Ethel) all of the United States. Sister-in-law of Teresa Bozzo (late Silvio) and the late Saverio Canale (late Rose). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Special aunt of Paul Sauro (Gloria). Dear friend of Bonnie and John Sullivan. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Christopher Columbus Society in Sault, Michigan and the Steelton Center Craft Club in Sault, Ontario. Mary enjoyed spending time with Anthony in Vermont and camping in the summer with family in Hessel, Michigan.
A private family Mass will be held at St. Veronica’s Church with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to St. Veronica’s Church, Sault Area Hospital Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Anthony wishes to thank the ParaMed nurses (Barb Armstrong, Marcy Calvano) for their excellent care of Mary over the past year as well as the nurses and doctors at Sault Area Hospital 3B for their compassionate palliative care. Special thank you to Dr. Jenkins, Denise and Dr. Sam Fratesi. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
