Passed away on December 3, 2021, at Grand River Hospital at the age of 73 with her husband Bill at her bedside.
Beloved wife of Bill for 54 years.
Loving mother of Robert (Johanna Gabel), Dale (Jamie Steiner) and Michael (Shanna).
Cherished Grandma of Cohen, Caroline and Myles.
Dear sister of Doris Jones of Stratford, Eva Devenport of Bayfield , Lynn O’Hearn of Toronto and the late Margaret West.
Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Barbara (nee Williams) McKay.
The most important thing in Edi’s life was her family, especially after her grandchildren were born. She liked nothing better than hosting family get-togethers around the pool. Edi was a well-respected primary teacher and very much enjoyed working with her grade one students. Edi retired from the Waterloo Region District School Board after 25 years of service.
Edi’s family will receive relatives and friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Please RSVP on the funeral home website to attend the visitation.
A private funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 50 Erb Street, West, Waterloo. Rev. Hugh Donnelly officiating.
