Lovey’s Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Lovey Erickson, on November 27, 2021 at the age of 92. She died peacefully in the comfort of her own home.
Lovey was born in Mlynowce, Poland December 5, 1928. She relocated to Canada at the age of 3 with her mother Stefania to meet her father who had arrived 3 years prior to start a new life at their Homestead Northeast of Donnelly.
Lovey lived a very hard life, helping out families with their house work and cooking, to earn money to help her parents. She met her husband Nelse, they were married November 3, 1947. Later on in years she worked at Donnelly Corner as a cook and server. She also played a big role with the farming, raising cattle, chickens, turkeys and geese. Lovey was very passionate with everything she did, she loved gardening and having as many flowers around the yard as she could. She loved baking and cooking traditional Ukrainian meals for occasions. You would never leave the table hungry there was always baked treats on the table daily. Even until the week before she passed, she was always baking, had a huge garden, beautiful flowers were still cutting the lawn. The love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was endless.
There will be a graveside memorial in the summer of 2022 at the St Mary’s (Guay School) cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Nelse.
