PHILIP NEIL BAUERNHUBER
1956-2021
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Philip Neil Bauernhuber after a short battle with cancer. On Saturday October 30th Philip passed with his family by his side at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli.
Philip was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and loving husband of Susan Bauernhuber.
Philip is survived by his loving wife Susan, his 3 Stepchildren Lark (David) Tanis (Monty) Cory (Candace) his grandchildren Chac, Sandino, Caleb, Kolby, Hailey, Raya and Wyatt, his parents Joseph and Vigdis Bauernhuber, his brother Bruce Bauernhuber, Uncle Karl (Kristine) Bauernhuber, his Aunts Frances Sigurdson, Borga Jakobson and their families as well as his loving dog Tanner.
He is now at peace with his sister Ingrid Bauernhuber, Uncle Oli Sigurdson (Bennie) and his Uncles Sveinn Sigurdson, Bjarki Jakobson as well as cousin Gestur Jakobson.
Phil was born and raised in Geyser on the family farm. He worked at Arborg/Noventis Credit Union for 40 years and made many friends during this time. Phil loved working in the yard and on the garden. You could also find him on the golf course in the summer or in the curling rinks during the winter months.
Phil was very passionate about his community and volunteered on many committees. He was very proud of his family and was considered their rock to lean on. He treasured his friendships and was always there if anyone needed him.
Donations can be made in his memory to a charity of your choice
The family Would like to thank the paramedics, nursing staff and doctors for his care. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
