“We listen. We learn. We walk with you.”
Dear God,
Please take care of our little hero,
The one with a dimple, big brown eyes and soft brown hair.
He was special, as you should know
We really didn’t want him to go.
He touched the hearts of everyone he knew
Letting him go was so hard to do.
His smile could brighten up the darkest room
We wish you didn’t have to take him so soon.
Could you sit and sing to him or read a story?
He’s probably afraid; please tell him don’t worry
Tell him we love him and wishes we could be there,
But it probably won’t be for many years.
He loves to listen to lil baby bum songs
Please tell him from us he has done no wrong,
Would you comfort him and hold him tight?
And tell him, he will be missed day and night.
Please tell him, he is so loved, so very dear
We will say it everyday for him to hear.
His short life on earth is now completed
For lessons I’m sure you felt we needed.
Tell him we promise to see him again someday
When that will be, we really can’t say.
We promise to make up for time passed,
To hold him and comfort him in our arms at last.
