Obituary of Patricia Agnes Gyuk
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Agnes Gyuk on Tuesday November 2, 2021 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was born on Valentines Day 1933, the daughter of the late Philippe and Anna Drapeau. A long-time member of St Theresa Catholic Church, she will be missed by fellow parishioners. A special lady who was very proud of her children and grandchildren, she was very happy to have been able to meet her great granddaughter, Ivy who made the trek from Ontario this past summer.
Always up for fun and adventure…. she would always say, “I’m in”. She loved to go for a Sunday drive playing loudly her ABBA CD. She was a very active lady with more of a social life than people much younger than her. She enjoyed shuffleboard, playing her Wednesday weekly card game with the same group of girlfriends for over 30 years. going out to eat with friends, enjoying a cup of tea and a good book. Many of her dear friends will miss her and we know there are too many to mention that have been very good to mom.
She leaves to mourn her two sons, Sandor Jr (Elizabeth) of Belleville ON, Phillip (Tarah); two daughters, Isabel Vienneau (Larry), Lubyca Gyuk (Mike Hennessy), all of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew and Phillip Gyuk, Taylor and Jesse Gyuk, Shelby Vienneau, Nick Swan, Josh Hennessy; one great granddaughter, Ivy Gyuk; step great grandchildren, Kale, Jaxon, Katie and Griffin; her sister, Sylvia (Armel) Levesque of Eel River Crossing; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sandor; her beloved grandson, Matthew Swan, four brothers; and one sister.
Special thanks to the paramedics, doctors and nurses of 4 SW; your compassion and care will not be forgotten. A special thanks to Mariette Galvin and her dog Piper who would drop over daily for a chat and cup of tea. Mom would always say hello to strangers and offer a smile. She met many life-long friends by this small gesture. Take time to say “Hello” and offer a smile to someone you may not know, as you don’t know where this may take you.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the spring at St Theresa Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Salvation Army, IWK, or charity of your choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
