William Arnold « Bill » Harri
– Bill went home to his Lord, peacefully at home, on October
28, 2021. He was born on April 2, 1938, in the former Port Arthur
(Thunder Bay), Ontario. As a young adult, Bill joined the military
serving at HMCS, Shearwater, NS and it was there he met his wife,
Barbara J. Stevens. They returned and resided in Thunder Bay for 36
years, raising two sons, Steven and Chris. Bill spent 35 years in
funeral service with Jenkins Funeral Home and Blakes Funeral Chapel,
retiring to Murphy Lake in the Annapolis Valley, NS. He spent many
summers back in Thunder Bay fishing with family and friends at
Watershed and Squires lakes and at the family camp on Arrow Lake.
Bill’s family devoted many years with their church family at
Calvary Lutheran in Thunder Bay and following their move to NS,
continued church fellowship at South Alton Baptist Church. Bill is
survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; sister-in-law, Ann
Arsenault; two sons, Steven (Christine) and Christopher (Megan); and
grandchildren, Brennan, Stephanie Rioux (Mike), Cameron and Isabel. He
was predeceased by his parents, Martha and William W. Harri; sisters,
Darlene Grinstead and Mabel Waldron; as well as in-laws, Bertha and
Bert Stevens from Musquodobit Harbour, NS; and sister-in-law, Shirley
Barber. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service and interment
will take place in Nolalu Cemetery, Thunder Bay, at a later date.
Donations in Bill’s memory to the Canadian Red Cross or your
local food bank would be appreciated by the family. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
