Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the age of 83. P. Eng., devoted father, Master Bootmaker, AA Oldtimer, and Performer. Reunited with his beloved daughter, Charlotte Eliza Grace (2016). Much loved by Nancy, Pam, Luigi, Alex, Nick, Jim, Jane, Charlie and Helen. Derek had many fond memories of his family in England, including his niece Kathryn (Chris), Christine, and many others. He will be dearly missed by his many colleagues and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Derek’s life will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 11am. Due to the limitations still in place surrounding COVID-19, attendance is limited to invited guests only. The service will also be livestreamed for those who wish to attend virtually. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, directed to the Charlotte Thorpe Memorial Scholarship.
