On October 28, 2021, Patricia Barkley passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family following a brief illness, at age of 83. Patricia will be forever remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother by her children Michael Barkley of Madoc, Penny (Ronald) Wheeler of Chesterville, Douglas (Kelly) Barkley of Ingleside, Donald (Shirley) Barkley of Chesterville and Cecil Barkley of Cornwall; her grandchildren Lyle Barkley, Cheryl (David) Dustin, Ivan (Kara) Arsenault, Amanda Arsenault, Nicholas Wheeler, Taylor Barkley, Calyssa Barkley, Mackenzie Barkley, Steven Seymour, and Kisha Richardson; her many great-granchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; she will be missed dearly by her sister Alice Barkley of Winchester, and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Beverly Barkley; parents Clarence and Margaret Towsley of Cardinal; siblings Katherine Harrison, George Towsley, Richard Towsley, Donald Towsley and Suzanne Powers; daughter-in-law Linda Barkley. Patricia cared deeply for all animals, especially her cats; she was an avid reader who always loved a good mystery novel and she never turned down the chance to watch a scary movie. She could frequently be seen taking a long morning stroll through the streets of the towns that she lived in, including Finch, Chesterville, and Williamsburg.
Funeral Arrangements
A public graveside service will be held at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville on Friday, November 5th at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the Chesterville Legion. Donations to Winchester Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
