GRACE GERALDINE CAMPBELL DORAN GRILLS (Amazing Grace)
October 30, 1920 – October 22, 2021
With great sadness, Grace’s daughters announce her passing, peacefully, on October 22, 2021, at Belleville General Hospital, with her three daughters by her side. Grace was predeceased by her spouses Lloyd ‘Red’ Doran, Lee Grills, and good friend Jock Hutchinson. Grace is survived by her brother Jerry Campbell of New Brunswick, and Veta Westcott of Havelock. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings, from the Maritimes, and stepdaughter Betty Ireland (nee Grills). Mom is survived by her daughter Dee Doran of Quinte West, Lee Anne Butcher (Dave) of Madoc, and Suzanne Doran of Belleville. Gramma Grace had seven grandchildren, Kyle Butcher (Jen), Lindsay Dodds (Mark), Chad Butcher (Dana), Tyler Grunig (Brittany), Josh Grunig, Meaghan Scully (Jake) Matt Grunig (Leah), as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. Grace truly lived an Amazing Life! During her one hundred plus years, she was a model in Montreal, served during World War Two, worked at Belleville General Hospital,
And was the longest serving Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer, since 1953. While with the Auxiliary, she worked at the Opportunity Shop, sewing, delivering gifts to patients, and working the Tuck Shop, and enjoying many games of chess, with whoever wanted to lose. Mom was still active, every Tuesday at the Tuck Shop, until COVID 2020, shut everything down. Mom enjoyed her friends, and family, always prepared to bake a pie, or her famous deviled eggs. She loved sewing, baking, gardening, travelling the world, sitting on her balcony overlooking the harbor, as well as riding her three-wheeler bike on the Bayshore Trail, even into her 100th year… Amazing Grace! She lived an extraordinary life, and will be greatly missed by all her family, and many friends. Cremation has taken place, with a future private family Graveside Service, at Mom’s request.
