Lynda Johnson 2021

Lynda’s Obituary
After a brief illness, Lynda passed away at Canora Hospital, Canora SK, on October 7, 2021, at the age of 74.
Lynda was born in Swan River, MB, on April 17, 1947. She was the 5th child born to Dan and Joyce (Marshall) Borley. She spent her childhood living just on the outskirts of town on River Road. In the fall of 1953, Lynda started school and her infectious charm allowed her to make many friends, two of which have remained lifelong. She continued her education in Swan River until 1966.
Lynda and Carman Anderson of Pelly, SK, were married in 1966 and they made their home on the farm just outside Pelly. On August 26, 1967, they were blessed with their only child, Charles.
Life on the farm was not easy for her but being the strong woman she was, Lynda never complained or bemoaned her situation, rather she made it a blessing. After the death of Carman (1977) and then Charles (1985), Lynda moved into Norquay to be closer to help her in-laws, Mae and Einar.
In 1988, Lynda married Lawrence Johnson, and four short years later she was broken hearted with his passing in 1992. Lynda remained on the farm that she and Lawrence shared outside of Hyas, SK, for a few more years before moving back into her home in Norquay, where she continued to live until her own passing.
Her compassionate nature was demonstrated through her choice of work. She worked as an educational assistant in the Norquay school, and then later as a health care assistant at the Norquay nursing home, where she retired from in 2012.
Lynda’s unwavering love of God was apparent in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed her time reading her bible, doing needle point, and later in life she started quilting. Combining her passions allowed her to make and give away many quilts. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers as well as enjoying God’s beauty everywhere.
Her beautiful smile and gracious embracing hugs will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have her in their lives.
She was predeceased by her parents, Dan and Joyce Borley; her first husband, Carman Anderson; only son, Charles Anderson; second husband, Lawrence Johnson; siblings: Leone Brazeau, Tessie LaBuik, Clayton, Lorne and Boyd Borley; mothers and fathers-in-law, Mae and Einar Anderson and Renee and Lawrence Johnson; and numerous bothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Lynda is survived by her three sisters, Margaret Chornawka, Dorrie (Stan) Kapki, and Cheryl Borley; one brother, Richard (Diane) Borley; sisters-in-law, Jean Anderson and Sharon (Gordon) Ball; and brothers-in-law, Lyndon (Carol) Johnson and Kim (Valerie) Johnson; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
A Public Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., in the Norquay Covenant Church Cemetery on Friday, October 15, 2021, with Pastor Brennan Cattani officiating. A Public Celebration of Lynda’s Life will follow at a future date.
