Obituary
Dear Dad,
As hard as it is to say goodbye, it brings us peace knowing you’re with Mom once again.
You were a father of few words and you accepted us for exactly who we were. We could laugh with you about anything and you never forgot a thing. You made sure to hug and kiss us every time we said goodbye never leaving without an ‘I love you.’
Your grandchildren idolized you as much as you idolized them and your sisters and brothers loved you immensely.
The morning of October 12th, just after 6 am, you passed peacefully with your sister by your side.
The stories we shared with family by your bedside these past few days is something we will cherish. Stories that made us laugh and stories that made us cry and before you ask, don’t worry your hair was brushed. Everyone loved caring for you Dad.
You are predeceased by your wife Carol, your Mom Elizabeth and your Father Chester.
You were born in Saint John, NB on Aug 25th 1944. You worked on the Saint John Police Force 29 years retiring a Sergeant. You loved Elvis, black and white movies, collecting all sports memorabilia and you were a lover of animals.
You leave behind your sons; David (Kim) Steven (Stephanie), your grandchildren; Allyson, Alex (Katie) and Matthew. Your great grandchildren; Autumn, Isabella and Kylie. You leave your brothers; Ralph (Carol) and Grant (Esther), your sisters; Eleanor, Bev (Joe) and Susan. You leave behind your brother-in-law Danny and sister-in-law Donna along with your sister-in-law Susan Henderson. You leave behind many nieces and nephews whom you spoke so highly of.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kennebec Manor staff and their unbelievable care they gave our Father. For the love and compassion you showed him in his final days we ‘Thank You.’
Thank you to our family and friends for showing up and helping at a moments notice.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be a private graveside service for family where he will be put to rest with his wife. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made if you wish to Bobby’s Hospice in memory of our father David Craig better known as Corky.
We love you Dad.
Rest easy and dance the night away.
We will forever make you proud and carry on the Craig name with pride.
Please give Mom a kiss from us.
Until we meet again,
Your heartbroken Sons,
David and Steven
