1933 – 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fernande (Fern) Jeannine Brook (nee Deschamps) on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the age of 88 with her children by her side.
Fern was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric Brook. Also predeceased by her parents, Albert Deschamps and Lucienne (nee Grenier); sisters Lucy (late Paul) Clement; Cecile (late Jack) Croskery; Yvette (late Wayne) Cahill and brother Albert Deschamps. Sons-in-law John MacKinnon and Serge Lefebvre. Grandsons Tyler and Matthew Wilson. Sister-in-law Gladys Brook and brother-in-law Amon Brook.
Fern leaves behind her loving children Sharon MacKinnon, Tim Brook (Randy Orford), David Brook, Kathy (Jim) Wilson, and Julie (Bill) Foss and by her adopted son Gord (Bonnie) Sauriol. She is also survived by her sister Jenny Carriere and brother Lew Deschamps, sister-in-law Mae Deschamps, sisters-in-law Beatrice (Leonard) Barbe, Alice (late Jim) McKnight, Marla (Victor) Larocque, and brothers-in-law Bill (Deltha) Brook, Charlie (Susan) Brook, and Raymond (Nancy) Brook. She is also survived by her grandchildren Gabrielle (Paul) St. Cyr, Danny (Natasha) Lefebvre, Courtney Foss (Scott). Ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our mother will be remembered for the love she gave her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing with her loving husband and was known for being an exceptional seamstress.
A graveside service will be held at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery officiated by Father Justin Dawson on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors at Blanche River Health- Kirkland Lake Site for the compassion and care they gave our mother.
