Cliff was born and raised in Burnsville, New Brunswick. He left home and moved west to work and eventually settled in Cobalt Ontario where he met the love of his life Denise. Cliff had a long career working in the mining industry in Timmins Ontario. He spent most of his career in open pit mining, working in three different mines finishing as the supervisor of the Owl Creek Mine. He was said to be firm but fair according to his staff, never asking his team, to do a job that he wouldn’t do himself. Occasionally his disposition would garner him the nick name of “Pepper”. In retirement he enjoyed golfing, moose hunting and fishing as much as he could. He was active with Feed the Hungry and Meals on Wheels; giving back to the community of Fort Erie in his retirement where he lived for 18 years. After moving to Hamilton, he continued to enjoy spending time with his grandchildren and helping his neighbors as a good Samaritan. His family, friends and neighbors will miss him dearly. Special thanks to the staff at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency and EMS staff who were very caring in his last moments.
In addition, the family would like to thank the staff from the Stroke and Rehab Unit, at the Hamilton General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton General Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stoke Foundation, would be greatly appreciated. Reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend the Celebration of Clifford’s life.
