Leon Vautour
1937-2021
REXTON, NB – Leon Vautour, 84, of Rexton passed
away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on
Thursday, September 23rd, 2021. Born in Rexton,
he was the son of the late William and Exilda (Richard) Vautour. In
his earlier years, Leon worked at Toronto Iron Works and then later
worked as a fisherman and also at the Rexton Recycling. He was a past
member of the Rexton Lions Club and he was well known for always
lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Leon leaves to mourn his loving wife, Lillian (Murphy)
Vautour; his daughter, Andrea Timmons (Doug) of Toronto, ON; his son,
George of Toronto, ON; as well as his three grandchildren, Brian and
Michael Timmons and Amanda Collie.
Leon will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Yvonne
Allain (late Arthur) of Richibouctou-Village and Jeannette Curtis
(late Ken) of Toronto, ON; his two brothers, Yvon (Stella) of Balla
Phillip and Roy (Fran) of Neguac; as well as by his many nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto on Tuesday from 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September
28th, 2021 at 11:00 am, St. Peter’s
Roman Catholic Church, South Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Leon’s memory made to Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca/donate)
would be appreciated.
Visitors are required to provide proof of vaccination and
government issued ID at the funeral home and church, masks are
mandatory and we ask that social distancing is
respected.
