Knight, William Charles – With sadness in our hearts the family of William (Bill) Knight announces his passing on September 18, 2021 at the age of 83. Bill is survived by his wife Suzanne (Sue) of 37 years, his sons Brad ( Louise) of North Bay, Calvin (Haileybury) Dwayne of Cochrane Adam ( Cassandra) of Thunder Bay and Will ( Brianna) of Kenebeek. Also leaving to morn are his precious grandchildren Kelsey, Devon, Mitchell, Sarah, Austin, Sydney and Finn, sister in law Alice Knight and brother Dennis Knight (Barb) & many cousins nieces & nephews as well as close friends and neighbors.
Bill was a hard working man. Who took pride in all he did and accomplished. Bill could fix anything and often said “ I should have been an engineer ». In the early sixties until 1979, Bill worked for Eplett Dairies in New Liskeard where he made lifetime friends that he spoke of regularly throughout his life. After Epletts relocated to Bramalea Bill & Sue moved to Kirkland Lake where he worked for Archers Dairy from 1980 to 1984. In 1984, Bill & Sue married, surrounded by family and friends under the maple tree in Sue’s grandparents backyard in Hamilton, Ontario. Bill began employment with the Ministry of Agriculture & Food in New Liskeard and worked two years in maintenance and eight years as a Residence Counselor, where he met his dear friend Mike Fedechko. After the college closed Bill perused many part time jobs but was best known for his work with BIA and Communities in Bloom in the Town of New Liskeard where his love of gardening was obvious to all who walked the board walk and admired the large hanging baskets and garden beds along Armstrong & Whitewood Streets that Bill took great pride in maintaining. In his last decade of life he serviced Cotes Car Wash as if it were his own. Bill often said “ my Car Wash job is a partnership of respect. He saw the Cotes as an extension of his family. Aside from his working days Bill was an avid fisherman. If he was fishing he was in his happy place. P.S. He took his fishing spots to heaven with him
