It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Fergus, aged 34, on August 31, 2021 in Powell River, BC.
Aristotle said that the greatest virtues are those most useful to other persons. We are profoundly grateful for the virtues Fergus showed us during his far too brief time on this planet: his inexhaustible sociability, his abiding wish to be of service to the community, his refusal to be knocked down by any challenge, and his relentless capacity to live a full and happy life..
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen O’Neil, Powell River, BC; uncles Patrick (Susan James) and Michael (Wanda) and aunt Kelly O’Neil; cousins Sean, Ryan and Hayley, all of Halifax; cousin Daniel Robinson, (Ingrid) Antigonish, NS, and his many, many friends in BC and Nova Scotia.
Fergus’ family wants to particularly acknowledge Allan Richardson and Jay Yule, and the entire community of Powell River for embracing this funny, eccentric, heroic man.
A private memorial service is being held for Fergus.
