Rose « Dotty »‘s Obituary
Goodwin, Rose “Dotty” Mertina – 93, of Barrington, passed away at Bayside Home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Born on October 30, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Gertrude ( Smith) Crowell. Dotty is survived by her son, Ronnie (Donna); grandchildren, Rona (Darrin) and Michelle (Andy); great grandchildren, Brittany. Ashley, Logan, Madison and Brenden; great-great grandchildren, Lucus, Scarlett and Emma; brother, Wesley Crowell; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dotty was predeceased by her husband, Enos Goodwin; sister, Lillian Nickerson; brothers, Melvin, Fraser and Milford. Dotty’s family were her pride and joy. A dovoted mother, grandmother, great and great great gradmother, she loved telling stories about her childhood days and could recite many verses and funny sayings of years age. She was “Nana” to many. The family would like to thank her former doctor, Dr. Blair and all the staff at Bayside Home including Dr. Yee for the wonderful care and love she received during her 4 years there. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 3:00 pm from Centreville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Bayside Home or the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
