Coleman, Robert Eric (Rob) – After an 18 year battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Rob passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee MacIntyre) of 48 years. Loving father of Scott (Kasandra) of Fergus, Heather Ruesgen-Coleman of Georgetown, and Jamie (Cheryl) of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Nicole, Carter, Dakota, Hudson, Cheyenna, and Brooke. Rob will be fondly remembered by the friends that he made throughout his life, including his sponsor and sponsees in AA. Besides being a teacher for 29 years for the Halton Regional School Board, Rob loved all Toronto-based sports teams, oldies music, and delivering a good pun at the most unexpected time. The family will receive friends at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home,1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held at All Saints Lutheran Anglican Church, 210 Silver Creek Parkway N., Guelph on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Attendees will be required to register their attendance at the visitation and service by completing their RSVP details below this obituary. Please note that capacity is limited for both the visitation and funeral service. Masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols remain in effect. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by the charity of your choice. The Coleman family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses who supported Rob and the family throughout the years, and a very special thank you goes out to pastors Jon Fogleman and Brian Wilker.
