Obituary
Ronald Paymond Wickberg was born March 16, 1939 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan and passed away in Ponoka on January 18, 2021.
Ron is survived by his wife Annette; his daughter Marie (Sam) Peters; his son Ronnie (Irma) Wickberg; his grandchildren Cara (Sven) Fiscus, Theresa Peters and Jessie Wickberg; and his great-grandson Evan Fiscus. He is also survived by his identical twin brother Donald and brothers Leonard (Marilyn), Art (Paulette), and Dave (Elsie); and his sisters-in-law Sonia Dobranski, Shirley (Al – his friend and brother-in-law) Janke, and Mary Mcphee.
Ron was proud to work as a rigger for the Boilermakers union for 45 years. He loved family, country music, rodeos, Cadillacs and animals – especially Lucky, the kitten he stopped to rescue on a busy street in Fort McMurray. He was always lending a helping hand to family, friends and strangers. Ron liked staying at Sylvan Lake in his motor home and made many friends there.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private family Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home. A live-stream broadcast will be available at service time and the recording of the service will remain on this page for 90 days. The viewer is located at the bottom of this page.
The Interment Service will take place in the family plot at the Dewberry Cemetery on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
