Theresa Libbie Robinson
Ingonish Beach
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on August 27, 2021 at Highland Manor, Neil’s Harbour.
Born on September 29, 1929, Ingonish. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Young) McGean. Mom was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Parish, Ingonish Beach.
Mom was a teacher before starting a family, she was a well-known seamstress in the area. She was employed by the Keltic Lodge for many years, where she was known as “Ma” to many of the employees over the years. Mom’s home was always open for family friends and neighbourhood children.
Mom is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Archibald, Valerie Barron (Gordon), Elaine Stockley (Lawson), Arlene Robinson (George), Glenda Rockey (Bill). Seven sons Tommy (Marilyn), Dale (Cathy), Darrell (Maryann), Billy Joe (Cynthia), Terry (Marlene), Teddy, Georgie (Karen). Mom was also survived by sister Donna Murphy (Hector) and sisters-in- law, Chris and Marlene McGean. Twenty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Mom was predeceased by her husband George, infant son Georgie, three sisters Mary (Molly), Hattie and Adeline, five brothers, Amos, Bill, Leo, Simon and Jack. Grandchildren, Cathy, Derrick, and Allan and great grandson Jesse along with her mother and father-in-law Patrick and Bridget Robinson.
The family would like to thank Management and Staff at the Highland Manor for the wonderful care and friendship shown to Mom during her stay at the Highland Manor. Also, a big Thank you to Homecare for the love and care shown while she was at home.
Cremation has taken place; a Funeral service will be held at a later date. Donations is Mom’s memory may be made to Highland Manor or St. Peter’s Parish. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
