John Wallace (Johnny)’s Obituary
On this day August 27th our lives changed forever, as we lost a wonderful husband, son, father and grandfather. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Johnny) Wallace Lawrence age 66, announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL. Johnny was the son of the late John (Jack) Lawrence. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law Melvin Bragg.
Johnny, leaving to mourn with many fond and special memories his loving wife of 39 years, Augusta Lawrence. He will also be loved and missed by his mother of 83 years, Melita Marie Lawrence (Lovell), two precious children, John Melvin Lawrence (Miranda McCarthy) and Lyndsey Karen Lawrence (Kelsey Kerschbaumer), two grandsons, Sonny Kerschbaumer, Torrey Kerschbaumer, one granddaughter, Abby Marie Lawrence, he also leaves his three sisters, Connie (Lee) Pederson, Glenda (Alfred) Skinner, and Juanita (David) Shortall. Johnny also leaves behind his mother-in-law of 85 years, Vera Bragg, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Johnny was a very devoted, hard working man. He loved his children and grandchildren from the bottom of his heart. No job was too big or too little for him. He did everything to perfection. Johnny loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He had a great love for nature and spent a lot of time on the country moose hunting and trouting.
Johnny was very pleasant and easy going. He had a great sense of humour and was always the life of any party or special event. He was everyone’s friend and everyone loved him. He will be forever missed and always remain in our hearts.
On behalf of the Lawrence family, we would like to thank all of those sweet angel nurses at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre (particularly Kristy, Tanya, Trula, Bailey, Dinah, Jody, Sadie, Jane and Ashley). Those nurses made this terrible time so much more bearable with their kindness and caring of Johnny. He appreciated and loved them all for it. “Nurses keep being You”, because there are no better nurses anywhere. Also, we would like to thank Dr. Blecher for the care he gave Johnny, he left no stone unturned to try and fix him. We are so thankful for this. Dr. Blecher, be rest assured, you are a 5-star Doctor!
