Peacefully, on August 27, 2021 at the age of 88, reunited with his beloved wife Alice (2020). Loving father of Debbie Gibb and husband Brian, Nancy Schneider and John Wood, Wayne and wife Deb and Julie Anderson. Cherished Grandpa of Amy, Ashley and Deney Iacobelli, Mathew and Alaska, Alyssa and Austin, Sydney and Ryan. Dearly missed by his siblings, Theresa Patrick and husband Ron, and predeceased by Mary Geirnaert and husband Leon, and Betty Schneider. Dear brother in-law of Annette Vanderhoven and husband Rudy (the late Dale Archibald), Lea Grondin and husband Bob, Evelyn Rivest and Gordon Ciliska, Irene Nowazek (the late Dr. Gary) and predeceased by Rosaire and wife Doreen (the late Veronica). John will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. John was a dedicated parishioner at St. John the Baptist Church, where he enjoyed many years volunteering as an usher.

On Wednesday September 1, 2021, reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation and funeral services, from 10am- 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 12:15 pm at Families First, 585 Sandwich Street South, Amherstburg, 519-969-5841. Proceeding to St. John the Baptist Church for mass at 1pm. A live stream of the service will be available to view the service from home please visit John’s web site and go to the link provided. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
