Capt Reginald E Stimson Ret’d 2021

Capt. Reginald E. Stimson (Ret’d)
Reginald E. Stimson, 81, of
K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, passed away peacefully at his residence on
Sunday, January 17, 2021. Born in Dalhousie, NB, he was the son of the
late Horace and Bessie (Orr) Stimson.
Dad worked in his earlier
years with Sunrise Dairy in Moncton. From there he began a 32 year
career with the Moncton Fire Department, retiring in 2003 as Captain.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, his many trips to Florida, summers at his
trailer in Shediac, and time with his family, especially his
grandchildren.
Reginald was an infantry
soldier at the North Shore Regiment in Campbellton and Newcastle.
After moving to Moncton, he worked with the 32 Service Battalion as a
military police officer. He retired with the rank of Warrant Officer
and was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration for a career of
Honorable Service. Reg was respected as a leader and trainer. He was
proud of his service and was exemplary as a leader of soldiers just as
he was an officer in the Moncton Fire
Department.
In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his wife, Marion Stimson (Astle) (2009); sisters,
Alice, Charlotte and Elizabeth and brothers, George and Harold. He was
the last surviving member of his immediate
family.
Reginald will be sadly missed
by his children, Debra « Debi » Stewart (Ric) and Reginald
« Dale » Stimson (Gail); grandchildren, Aaron Stewart
(Samantha), Matthew Stimson and Kerri Lynn Petley (John); great
grandchildren, Maddison, Jack and Josie, as well as his many nieces
and nephews.
In
keeping with Reginald’s wishes, there will be no visitation
hours. A Service to celebrate and honour Reg’s life will
take place on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 am from Fergusons Funeral
Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Elmwood
Cemetery.
The family would like to take this
opportunity to thank all the care workers at Spencer’s
Memorial Home who went the extra mile everyday to make our father part
of their extended family.
