Obituary
On Wednesday, January 13, 2021 James « Big Jim » Haywood of Cold Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 69 years.
Big Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Big Jim was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba where he grew up and went to school. It was around 1981 he made his way to Fort McMurray to start his career with Kal Tire at Syncrude & Aurora for 36.5 years before he retired due to health reasons. Big Jim became involved with I.A.M.A.W District Lodge 14 and did a lot of work helping out his fellow co-workers, which he really enjoyed doing. While Living in Fort McMurray Big Jim joined a Motor Bike Club that allowed him to work with and support the charity « Toys For Tots ». He loved the outdoors, just puttering around the yard and sitting down by the marina.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 years: Lucille Haywood of Cold Lake; daughter: Cheryl Haywood of Saskatoon; three sons: James (Jennifer) Haywood of Saskatoon, Billy Nelson of Bonnyville, Dustin Nelson of Cold Lake; five grandchildren: Jaedyn, Jenna, Michaela, Seth, James; mother: Florence Haywood; two brothers: Ian (Carmen) Haywood of Edmonton, Murray (Debbie) Haywood of Minnedosa, MB.
Big Jim was predeceased by his father: Fredrick Haywood; two brothers: Bryan Haywood, Bruce Haywood; father-in-law: Bill Nelson.
Celebration of Big Jim’s Life, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Royal Canadian Legion BR. 211, Cold Lake, Alberta.
