Lorraine was a beautiful, little blonde haired, blue eyed baby girl born in Port Aux Basque Newfoundland to the late Debbie and George Pink. She was a mischievous little girl who was known to strip naked and run down the lane, only to be returned shortly after by laughing neighbors. She was a joy to her parents but not so much to her brother George, who she would torment regularly. Lorraine was raised in Harbour Lee Cou, Rose Blanche where she went to school and had children of her own. Lorraine’s two daughters, Lacey and Stacey were her everything. She dedicated her life to her girls. Their relationship was one to be envied.
In the Summer of 1995, a handsome Ontarian by the name of George Freeman, happened to go on a trip to Newfoundland and caught the eye of Lorraine. She knew the moment she saw him that he would be her husband and followed him back to Windsor Ontario that very summer. They started their relationship immediately and married on Aug 22, 1998. Lorraine and George’s love fit together like a hand in glove.
They raised their daughters in a happy home where they loved family gatherings. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she always made it special; in fact, her tree was usually up before Halloween. Lorraine was an excellent cook and was especially known for her Newfie dinners and her chicken noodle soup. Lorraine loved keeping a beautiful home and would often crank her music and dance while cleaning her house.
Not only did she give her girls a good home but she also gave them a foundation in Christ. Lorraine gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and lived for Him with all of her heart. She would eventually become the first lady of the Upper Room Pentecostal Tabernacle where she stood by her husband’s side in ministry. Lorraine had health challenges that she battled for years but that didn’t stop her from loving her God, her husband, her daughters and her grandbabies. She gave all that she had to give and if you were blessed enough to know her personally, you would definitely feel God’s touch through her hands.
Devoted wife of Pastor George Freeman for 24 years. Cherished mother of Lacey Pink (Tray) and Stacey Strain (Jordan). Proud Nana of Destiny, Deja, Davaughn, Donavyn, Raevyn, Rico Jr., Dominik, Dylan, Noah, Darian, Zion and Deion. Beloved sister of Diane Waugh (Ricky), the late Sandra Moreau, Belinda Holland (the late Dave) and the late George Pink. Dear sister-in-law of Eugene Davis (Carol), the late Donnie Freeman, Kevin Freeman, Cheryl Freeman, Derrick Freeman (the late Jane, Carrie), Debbie McKee (Woody), Lucy Freeman (the late Richard), Lisa Freeman, Stephanie Durocher (Tim) and Pastor Melvin Freeman Jr. (Kim). Reunited with her parents George and Debbie Pink and father-in-law Pastor Melvin Freeman Sr. Survived by her mother-in-law Cora Freeman. She will be sadly missed my many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and her church family. And we cannot forget her pride and joy, her baby, her dog Harley.
