It is with deep sadness that we announce
the passing of Thomas Hector Laurette,
age 83, of Amherst, NS. Thomas passed away on Friday, August
6, 2021 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Amherst, NS he was a son of the
late Norman and Pauline (MacDonald) Laurette.
Tom enjoyed fishing, working in his shop
and restoring old woodworking tools. He loved taking his dog on long
walks and especially long scenic car rides with his wife
Gloria.
Tom is survived by his wife Gloria; 2
sons Tom (Drew Williams) of Jacksonville, Florida and Mike (Clare
Mackey) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Benjamin and Isabella; brothers
Bill and Terry both of Amherst as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased
by brothers Russell, Norman and Sam and a sister
Betty.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS
(902-667-8777). Honouring Thomas’s wishes, cremation has
taken place.
Donations in memory of Thomas may be
made to SPCA Nova Scotia.
