It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Margaret Annie
Matheson, 91, of Amherst, on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at
Northumberland Hall. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Margaret
was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Berridge)
McGovern.
Margaret had worked with CIBC for over
35 years. She enjoyed all types of music, anything from
western music to opera. Family was very important to her,
she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great
grandmother.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her
children, Barbara (Roger) Inamoto, Etobicoke, ON, and Beverly (John
Laing) Matheson, Etobicoke, ON, and Harold Matheson, Amherst; eight
grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Iris Sinclair
and Jane Park, as well several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was
predeceased by her husband James « Jim » Matheson;
brothers-in-law, Wilbert Sinclair and Harold Park.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). Honouring Margaret’s
wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will
take place at the Glenville Cemetery, Glenville, NS, at 2 pm on
Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
