Patrick Thomas (Pat) Reilly

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Thomas Reilly on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Linda (MacDonald), Pat was a loving dad to Patrick (Maritriny), James (Trina), Christine Curry (Adam), and Joe (Elisa), and a proud grandpa to Maia Reilly; Emma, Kaiden and Kiera Reilly; Amelia and Eleanor Curry; and Livia Reilly.
Born in Sydney Mines, Pat was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Winnifred (Cordy) Reilly. Pat taught Junior High in Sydney Mines for 35 years. He loved teaching and spoke fondly of the learning experiences he shared with his students. He felt they taught him as much as he taught them.
Pat enjoyed fishing, cooking, and his weekly poker nights with friends. He is survived by his children and grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, Pat is predeceased by his brothers John and Joseph “Sonny.”
Pat was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, North Sydney.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
