SIMMONS, Brian “Bear”
Passed away peacefully at VON Sakura House with his wife by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Beverly “Bev” Simmons (nee Forsey) for 50 years.
Loving father of Julie Major and her husband Wes Major and Matthew Simmons and his partner Nancy Xeng Ngo. Proud grandpa of Nick Major, Madeline Major (Jorden Wigand), Ethan Simmons and Aidan Simmons. Brother of Rev. Gordon Simmons, Pat Simmons (Kathy) and Michael Simmons. Brian will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Georgina (nee Collins) Simmons, sister Mary Thiel and her husband Hub Thiel and sisters-in-law Beth Simmons, Heather Simmons. Brian was a dedicated and proud paramedic where he served Oxford County for 41 years. He and Bev opened their home and shared their love to many children that they fostered for 31 years.
The family will have a private family visitation at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock (519-537-3611). A private graveside service will be held in New Durham Cemetery.
