Sean William Camiel DeMuynck
Sean DeMuynck courageously lost his life on July 5th,2021, at the age of 35. Sean died heroically in the line of duty as a volunteer firefighter for station 21, Penn Wynne Overbrook Hills Fire Company in Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Richard-Greenblatt, parents Mark and Sue DeMuynck, Barbara DeMuynck and Paul Maillet, and grandparents Aldeo and Anna Maillet and Bruce and Pat Frayne. Older sister Tricia Willemse (Phil James), and other siblings, Cassandra Wideman (Jesse) and Carly Frayne-Jones, Christopher Maillet (Carly) and Samantha Liska (Matthew). He was a very special uncle to his favourite girl in the world – Hannah Willemse and will be dearly missed by Maddison, Brody, and Travis James. Predeceased by grandparents Cecile and Camiel DeMuynck and Iva and William Graham.
He will be remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins, friends, the hockey community, and his fellow firefighters. Sean served his community bravely while pursuing a lifelong passion. He was a true hero who ran into buildings while others ran out. His memory and legacy will live on forever.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Sean on Saturday, July 31st at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. Donations in Sean’s memory can be made out to KidSport Canada. Online condolences and donations can be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
