Murray John May, 94, of Milton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 at Milton District Hospital. He was born to parents Clifford and Maybelle May, on April 25, 1926 in Hornby, Ontario. Murray attended school in Streetsville, ON and left to pursue farming on his fourteenth birthday in 1940. He was active in Junior Farmers as a young man and sold cars at Applewood Motors in Streetsville while working on the family dairy farm, Mayholm Farms. Murray married Clara Margaret May (nee Rogers) in 1954 and they had two children; Rennie and Michelle. Murray lived and farmed in the house he was born in until 2001, when they sold and moved to Milton, ON. He loved old time fiddle music, calling square dances, and writing poetry for his entire life. Friends and family often received poems, “Writ by Hand” on special occasions or at events:

You even bought the card
Lately I’ve had some problems
But I guess it could be worse
I just happen to have

From a mixed up hubby.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Maybelle May. He is survived by his wife Clara May, son Rennie May, daughter Michelle Wadden and her husband Andy; sister Elsie Jackson, sister Shirley Taylor; five grandchildren Reanna, Dylan, Arielle, Halle, and Adam; and three great grandchildren Jacius, Aaliyah, and Zaiden. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Murray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Murray to the Milton District Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
