It is with profound sadness to announce that at Beattie Manor, Wardsville, on Thursday, July 15, 2021, Wilhelmina “Wilma” Janssen of Glencoe passed away peacefully surrounded by family, in her 88th year. Loving wife of the late Peter Janssen (2016). Wilma was a wonderful mother to Elizabeth and Jay Burtwistle of London, Paul and Marie Janssen of Mount Brydges, Michelle and John Gravett of Newmarket, Yvonne and Matthew Chappus of Amherstburg, Michael Janssen of Burlington and Richard and Kelly Janssen of Glencoe. Proud Oma to Carson, Ian, Emily, Benjamin, Owen, Abbey, Emerson, Carlie, Janssen, Oliver, Simon, Mackenzie and Cooper. Also survived by her sister Joanne Niewenhuizen of Strathroy. Predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Wilma modelled to younger generations the importance of family and what it means to be a contributing member of her community. Due to COVID restrictions a private Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Charles Garnier Church, Glencoe with interment North American Martyrs Cemetery, Wardsville. A special thank you to the staff of Beattie Manor for their excellent care, especially the last few days.
