It is with broken hearts that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Hunter Stephen Mcken on June 25, 2021.
Hunter was born on March 6, 2001 to his loving parents Todd and Tanya McKen. Hunter lived the majority of his short life in Armstrong, BC where he graduated with pride from P.V.S.S. He was a caring and sensitive young man who had many friends and he cherished the time spent with each and everyone of them.
Hunter and his dad shared a powerful bond that was apparent to all who knew them. He ensured that he spent quality time with his mom who lives in Kelowna as well as other family on a regular basis.
Hunter had a special relationship with his cousins Alyssa and Riley McKen. He was a big brother, mentor and confidant to Alyssa. Hunter and Riley spoke almost everyday, they gamed and shared boyhood secrets, they both anticipated and looked forward to their reunions each year.
Hunter was extremely passionate about the military and police force. He dreamed about being an officer and collected anything that pertained to his passion. Hunter’s dad bought him a Crown Victoria, former police car that he spent hours trying to restore to its original state.
Hunter was anything but ordinary and will forever be with us through memories and visuals everywhere. Hunter leaves behind his parents Todd and Tanya McKen, grandparents Carol Hill (Sidney), Rita Derkson, Stephen & Ronda Bennett, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, his love Victoria and extended family members.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the McKen family home on July 11, 2021 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. All are invited but flowers and donations are politely declined.
