Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Will Ryks at the age of 59 years.
He will be missed by his loving wife Linda; children, Christopher (Rene Andruchiw), Matthew (Deanna Bulsink), and Brianna (Johnathon De Hoog). He will be remembered by his older sisters, Hanna (Maynard) Huibers, Marian Szelekovszky-Ryks and Joyce (Tony) Rozema; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Will gave his wholehearted dedication to whatever task or job he had in front of him – in his careers with the City of Edmonton, EdTel, Telus, Allsons Electric, and the Kings University, as well as with his many and varied volunteer work for his church and community. He spent many hours with family and friends on numerous camping trips – beginning in early spring and usually ending with large family and friend gatherings at the campground on Thanksgiving weekends. He had a passion for music and spent many years playing guitar with the Joyful Noise Children’s Choir and assisting with their sound and technical needs. His generosity found outlets in helping friends, family, or complete strangers in whatever ways they needed. Will loved food, and if he wasn’t tinkering in his garage on cars or computers, he was finding new recipes to try.
A small private service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church of Edmonton on Thursday July 1, 2021. The service can be accessed on the church’s youtube at: www.youtube.com/channel/UCPdyoC-_R2Oy1plXeTPqwKw
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Rehoboth Christian Ministries in Will’s name.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de John Will Ryks 2021..
